Slater Families,

It is hard to believe it is the end of the school year, it flew by so quickly. Here are some important reminders for our last month of school:

Movie Nights – I will be hosting “Movie Under the Stars” nights during May. Families are welcome to come and watch free movies on some Friday nights in May. Free popcorn and snow cones will be provided. Our movies will be…

May 5th: “Hidden Figures”

May 19th “A Dog’s Purpose”

May 26th if attendance is good at the 5/5 and 5/19 dates

We will start the movie right after sunset. Families can play on the playground while we wait for dusk. Around 7:45 p.m.

I hope to see everyone for our movie nights on May 5th and May 19th!!

PTA/SAC Meeting 5/2 – We will have our last meeting of the school year this Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the library. An important agenda item will be determining if we will do an in-person registration this August or if we will do it completely on-line.

Continuation – Our 6th Grade Continuation will be May 24th at 6:00 p.m. We decided to change our long-standing practice of a daytime ceremony in order to better accommodate the work schedules of our parents. Ms. Matlock and Mr. Panczak will be providing more specific information as it relates to dress code, refreshments, and specifics of the ceremony.

6th graders will not attend school on May 25th, as a special compensation for continuing on to middle school!

Flex Testing Days – We will not have school on May 5th and May 8th for our end of the year Flex Testing. Please make sure to sign-up your child for a testing appointment with his/her teacher. It is incredibly important that all of our students come in for a testing appointment. Remember, other than the short testing appointment, your child will not have school on May 5th and May 8th.

6th Grade Kickball Game – Our 6th graders will challenge our staff to a kickball game on Friday, May 19th in the afternoon, on the north playground. Hope to see you there!

Good Behavior – In order to encourage our students to follow the rules and continue to work hard, most of our teachers may decide to hold students out of end-of-the-year special activities if behavior is very poor. Please help us by reminding your child that school ends on May 25th and we need excellent behavior and hard work to end the year on a high note.

Have a great May!
