Significant Support Needs (SSN)
SSN Program K–5
At Slater, we have an SSN Program for students with significant support needs. Our program offers academic instruction based on modified standards. We value functional communication in social and academic interactions. In practicing their communication skills, we work towards positive social and adaptive skills to help them become life-long learners. This program honors diversity as well as encourages a growth mindset in our community. We work together to promote inclusion with their same aged peers in the general education classroom. Teachers are intentional and maintain high expectations for all students. They collaborate to accommodate a variety of learning styles that meet the needs of all their students.
